Holistic Health

First of all, you might be asking what is holistic health?

Holistic health is an approach to our health with the WHOLE BEING in mind. It places importance equally on the body, mind, spirit and our environment.. Every person’s health will vary because achieving optimal health and preventing disease isn’t a factor of food and exercise alone. In today’s modern world of convenience, we are subjected to way too many poisons and pollution everyday, through the food we eat, the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the products we use.

In the last 50 years, chemistry has made our life more comfortable and convenient but with a cost , our health. Most of the chemicals we’re exposed to on a daily basis can have an immediate impact, for example if you smoke or live with someone who does, your vitamin C levels will be used up faster. The bottom line is almost everything we come into contact with exposes us to chemicals. Overtime, these “trace” amounts ALL add up.

Holistic health also involves not only checking ourselves for contaminated foods, polluted air and water, but also for a lack of sleep, chronic stress, or involvement in unhealthy relationships. It includes being aware of the harmful toxins we’re exposed to at home and at work. Are you depressed? Do you seem to live as though your “surviving” rather than thriving? These are some other concerns to give thought to in evaluating our overall health and well being.
